Hello, I'm Shelby. I'm a born and raised Coloradan with a passion for the written word. I've been writing stories and editing my friends' work for as long as I can remember.

I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a BA in English. A few years after graduating, I attended the Denver Publishing Institute, an intensive graduate program taught by industry professionals that immerses students in all aspects of the book publishing industry. Learning and receiving feedback from professional editors showed me that editorial work was where I belonged.

Since then I've begun working my way towards a certification in copyediting from UC San Diego and taking on clients to help them make their work into the best version of itself. I believe a good edit should not fundamentally change an author's writing, but rather bring out its potential--make it the best version of itself that it can be. I look forward to hearing about your project.
